Where: Marseille, FRANCE La Grande Candelle: ~9 pitches of 5.9, with the final        ridge being about 5.6.  Easy warmup. "Waaaaay better than ice climbing!" Straight forward until we hit the midway point of the        climb when we're hit by literally huricane force winds        and nearly blown off the mountain into the choppy        sea. Certainly makes the upper 5.6 ridge pitches a few grades harder!!! Huddling from the wind on one of the belay stations. Pio on the ridge, with the rope being blown to the left. Final cruxy little bouldering move at the summit. Day 2: off to Davenson, the most remote and rugged part of the Calanques. With a dip in the sea before climbing. First pitch of a ~8 pitch 5.9 route. Mmm mmm. Summit, looking towards Cassis and La Ciotat. Bivy. Day 3: sweet ~12 pitch 5.10b traverse route on this wild spit of land, right above the       water (from left to right). Tom rapping into the route. Pio on the crux 5.10b.  Nice finger- and foot-work! Talk  about ambiance! Rad final 100 or so metres along a diagonal ramp. Sweet! Top-out at sunset, with the Grande Candelle in behind.
