Where: Parc National de la Vanoise

Starting the trip in longjohns.  Gotta love spring skiing.

We watched numerous avalanches and icefalls come
crashing down from the top of this face.  Tom lead us
cautiously out of range, while in front of us, two
French groups went straight up underneath it!  Needless
to say, a sizeable avalanche came down right in front of
       them and scared them silly!

Hesitently crossing one of the bigger icefalls.

Gotta love European ski touring.  It's so easy!  Look at this beautiful free unguarded
       hut.  Amazing!

Day 2: early start to hit the steep slope leading up to the
Glacier de la Vanoise when the snow's still hard.

Summitting on the Glacier de la Vanoise (~3800m).

Second hut on our route.  Guarded, beautiful and all to ourselves!

So we ordered pasta in the sun to celebrate.

Unfortunately poor Sarah got a pretty bad stomach bug
on day 3, so we decided to call it quits and jet for the car.

Descent down to the car.
