Where: Sevilla to Cáceres, ESPAÑA

Hauling boxes at the Lyon airport.

Start of the trip in Sevilla.  L to R: YT, Claudio, Carlos, Pilar.

Typical courtyard in Sevilla.

Plaza de España in Sevilla.

Catedral de Sevilla.

Day 1: getting away from Sevilla along the flats.

River crossing.

Pilar ... ahem ... borrowing some plums on the way.

Getting hilly.

First night at a great little albergue de peregrinos.  By donation,
      and with a great view!

Day 2 started off with a beautiful road section.

Getting more remote!

Nasty hike-a-bike in the middle of nowhere.

First contact with the local species: jamón iberico.

Lunchtime.

No wonder the jamón is so good from this region.  Look at what a happy life these
       pigs lead!!!

Riding through the pig fields amongts the acorn trees.

Notice the yellow arrow on the trunk of the tree on the left, indicating the route.

More pigs!  Mmmm, jamón, chorizo, longaniza, bacon ...  Boy does this route make you hungry.

Oink.

Random abandoned castle.

I didn´t know pigs were so curious!  Or maybe more like hungy!

Me hunched over from my bad back, while Carlos hauls my bike.

Fixing flat number 1, an hour before sunset.

Flat number 2 at sunset!  Needless to say, we finished the last
10 km that day in the dark.

Roman aqueduct in Mérida.

Heading back to Madrid early after my back couldn't
       handle any more.

Gratuitous meat shot.
