Day 1: Sentier d'Aplomb, heading up to Chamrousse. Steep and long!

The descent at dusk: Chamrousse to Riouperoux. 1100m of vertical at 45 degree slope angle. It's like extreme skiing ... but it hurts more if you fall! Radical.

We went straight down here! Damn was that rad.

Flat #1 half way down, courtesy of Pascal. We're still doing 45 degrees, it's getting dark and we don't have lights! Soon after, Christof flats and it becomes officially dark!

After feeling our way down the last half of this insane descent, we finally hit the valley bottom. Now for 30 km back on a minor highway ... without lights! Yikes. But first, to complete the day and not to stand out from the others too much, I have to have a flat too. Cripes... Epic!

Day 2: off to a good start!

Near the summit of la Charande in the Vercors, looking north to Mont Blanc.

View of the Belledone from la Charande (1709 m).

We came up through the fields below.

Another descent of madness! Surfing down the sea of leaves for 1800m! RAAAD.

Wipe that grin of your face!

You too!

In swiss-german: "Oh man, this is cool!" |
