April 18 to 21, 2009 Yours Truly, Juraj, Louis, Paul, Maud, Robin and Mahnu Where: Zermatt, SCHWEIZ and Chamonix, FRANCE The Matterhorn, Day 1.  The plan was to do an 8 day tour of the 4000m peaks between Saas Fee       and MonteRosa.  This was our only sunny view... The gang at the p-lot: Paul, Mahnu, Maud, Louis, Robin, Juraj and YT. Alrriiiight, let's DO it.  Yeeehaw. The Taesch hut on the ridge right above us. The Taesch hut up close. Inside.  Holy fancy!  Too bad the guardians were total beefballs. 6:00am somehwere in the fog on the first aclimatization day (ie. day 2). Hey guys, can you see anything?  No I can't see anything, can you.  No, I can only see nothing. Ok, that's ok.  Even if the guardian told is zer viiel bee zer schoen vetter        today, we don't mind scrapping the first 4000m peak from our list.  We        have the whole rest of the week to do 4000m peaks. At least the snow is puffy soft! Ok, so this is what we're going to do now, and that's what we're going to climb, and we' ll do        2000m tomorrow, and 18000m the day after, and then we'll go up to 4500m, and then ....  Yeah        cool!  Zee guardian ov zee huutte is promising more gutt vetter.  Yeeehaw.  Well, it's noon, we've.       already done 1600m and we're back at the hut.  So what now?  Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Day 3.  Zer gutt vetter in Schweizerland apparently means 80cm of schnee.  Scheisse. Time to scrap the plans and get the  hell outta this place! Talk about avvy danger!!! . Back at zee cars. This time we slept INSIDE the hut. Contamines and St. Gervais at 5 in the morn on Day 5. Beginning the long slow climb up the Glacier de Tre la Tete. Good, solid, coherent group.  Very rare for 7 gungho people. Final zags towards the Col des Domes. Col des Domes (3564 m), with Mont Blanc peaking over the crest on the right.
