Le Dolomiti, Italia

Le sposo Fredissimo with dress shoes, shades and all!
Fred and Silvia sealing the affair with the mayor.
Checking for traffic.
Pieve di Ledro, near Lago de Garda, where Silvia's parents have a house and where the wedding took place.
Aaah the Italians!
Aaah the Italians, part 2 !!
After the wedding, we convinced Silvia, Fred and some friends to come and join us for some climbing in the Brenta group nearby. We got there a day early with Pilar, so we decided to do an ambitious route up the Campanile Basso. This was to be Pilar's first climb of the year, and nearly mine as well!
On the third pitch.
After being held up at the start by a colourful mixture of international climbing parties (we're too nice!), we had a hard time getting into the swing of things and decided to pull out after pitch 5 (about 1/3rd of the way up) before we got too far up! This is a view of the route. Pretty saweet!!!
We finished the day off by hiking a via ferrata to cross over to the Rifugio Tuckett where we were to meet up with the newly-weds.
On the ledges with no visibility!
Pilar spooked by a wild 20m descending ladder into nothingness.
The rungs were kind of loose mostly. This thing was probably set up in the 70s...
See previous picture!
And more ladders.
It's a good thing they had an excess of paint: at least we won't get lost!!!
Climb 2: somewhere up the Madonna di Campiglio above the Rifugio Tuckett.
Fred pulling out of the final crux 5.8 pitch, 300m off the deck. Wild!!!
Yeehaw, we're at the top. And it only drizzled on the way up!
Rapping into the fog.
